Isaiah 66

August 28, 2015

Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.

  1. 66:2 These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.

(Oswalt in Constable's Commentary) "…humble recognition that we can do nothing either for him or to him (humble)…the awareness that we deserve noting but destruction form him (contrite in spirit)…the desire to do nothing other than what he commands (tremble at my word)."

Therefore worship God humbly, with a contrite spirit and with a desire to be obedient.
