Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
21:10 My people who are crushed on the threshing floor, I tell you what I have heard from the Lord Almighty, from the God of Israel.
God's people are crushed at the place where grain is crushed for bread – the food of life. A place of life has become the place of death.
Sometimes the church, the place of life can become deathly dull with no life – but God can revive them.

22:11 You built a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the Old Pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or have regard for the One who planned it long ago.
In order to defend themselves the Israelites removed the buildings between the inner and outer walls of the city (v.10). This created a reservoir of water to stop the enemy if they broke through the outer wall but also protected their water supply. While it was not wrong to do this, the people's reliance was on physical securities instead of the Lord.

23:18 Yet her profit and her earnings will be set apart for the LORD; they will not be stored up or hoarded. Her profits will go to those who live before the LORD, for abundant food and fine clothes.
God's blessings extend to abundant food and fine clothes! Those outside God's family will bless God's people. They store up and hoard but God's people are generous and share.

24:14 They raise their voices, they shout for joy; from the west they acclaim the LORD’s majesty
The righteous of God will rejoice that evil is finally defeated. Its defeat is far reaching and devastating (v.1-3). But it will be a time of joy for God's people as there will be no more oppression, no more injustice, and no more abuse. God will reign.

25:3 Therefore strong peoples will honor you; cities of ruthless nations will revere you.
Some think Christianity is for the weak, timid, cowardly but here we see strong peoples honouring and revering God. God is seen for who he is more powerful than any nation or people group. God speaks through culture – whatever values are seen to be important, valuable, powerful – God proves he is greater and higher than any other.
