Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
v.1-3 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it…Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said.
The goal is to enter into rest. We enter by believing that God has done all the work. God is not impressed with our work. He wants us to enter into his work.

v.12-13 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.
This verse is addressed to Christians and makes us realize that we although we can hide our thoughts and attitudes from each other we cannot keep them from God.
