Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
26:36 For the entrance to the tent make a curtain of blue, purple and scarlet yarn and finely twisted linen—the work of an embroiderer.
God considers the work of an embroiderer important. It is a gift he gave and he wants used. (See also 27:16). All of God's gifts have value.

27:8 Make the altar hollow, out of boards. It is to be made just as you were shown on the mountain.
The directions we have in Exodus are not specific enough for us to know exactly what the tabernacle and its furnishings looked like. Moses needed a picture. Likewise for us written instructions are not enough. Jesus came so we would know what a godly life looked like.

28:30 Also put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastpiece, so they may be over Aaron’s heart whenever he enters the presence of the LORD. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the LORD.
The priest held the decision making process of the Israelites over his heart before the Lord. All our decisions are of interest to the Lord and need to be made from a heart that is right with God.

29:45-46 Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God. They will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of Egypt so that I might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
All the procedures for consecration was for the benefit of the Israelites who needed to know that God is holy yet wanted to dwell with them. The symbolism spoke to the people to teach them about God.

30:12-16 “When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them. Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel…All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD…Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting.
In Jesus' day this had become the yearly "temple tax" (Matthew 17:24).
Numbering the people presents the danger of relying on your own resources instead of on God. However they were not told to never take a census but protect themselves when they did. Sometimes we are in a position of potential danger or temptation that is unavoidable but we can know God's protection in it.
