Wendy Hayes writes with passion and insightfulness as she encourages women to walk in the freedom Christ has gained for them.

In Escape from Egypt, Wendy discusses the many ways the devil prevents women from reaching their potential in God, such as trauma, an incorrect understanding of the Bible and cultural oppression. Wendy takes us through common misunderstandings regarding submission, authority and leadership both in the home and the church. Wendy stresses the importance of God giving people free will and discusses what that looks like for Christian women.

Wendy uses illustrations from the Bible and her life experiences. I found it particularly helpful to read about Wendy’s own spiritual journey and the lessons God has taught her along the way. Her honesty and courage in sharing personal stories was a highlight of the book, as well as an encouragement to press on in my relationship with God.

An insightful and inspiring read.
