Afflicted yet silent
Burdened with grief
Crushed by sin
Despised by onlookers
Embraced the pain
Forsaken by God
Guiltless but condemned
Humiliated for me
Injured for my shame
Justice denied
Kindred to my hurts
Lashed for my healing.
Mourning on Friday
Numbness on Saturday
Open grave on Sunday.
Puzzled disciples
Quickly, go, tell,
Risen from the dead
Salvation achieved
Triumph accomplished,
Ultimate defeat of evil.
Victory by him
Who was, and is, and is to come
Xmas to Easter,
Yet more – the A to
Z, the Alpha and Omega.
