Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
v.12 When Peter saw this, he said to them: 'Men of Israel, why does this surprise you?'
The man has been crippled from birth v.2 and it would seem that Peter and John would have past him every day (v.2) yet this day he is healed in an instant. Of course you would be surprised!!!

The other surprise for me is in v. 14 'You disowned the Holy and Rigteous One and asked that a murderer be realeased to you.'
It never ceases to amaze me how naive and gullible people are that they can be tricked into agreeing to an innocent man's death and ask for a murderer to be released. Some days I worry could be equally naive and gullible.

v.26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.
God's intention is to bless us and we are blessed when we turn from our wicked ways. Wicked ways don't bring the happiness they promise.

v.17 Now, fellow Israelites, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your leaders.
God can work even through our ignorance. Not that we should remain ignorant but rather trust God because even when we don't know things he is still able to bring about his purposes.

v.15 You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.
Interesting that neither the crowd nor later the Sanhedrin ever disputed that Jesus had risen. If they could have produced Jesus’ body they would have.

v.19-21 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. Heaven must receive him until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.
The Jews were struggling to understand if Jesus was the Messiah then where was the messianic kingdom? Peter explained that first they need to accept the Messiah before his kingdom would begin.
