It is felt that after this, Paul was released from imprisonment and ministered for about another five years before his second imprisonment which led to his martyrdom. Support for two imprisonments come from 2 Timothy 4:20 (Erastus stayed in Corinth, and I left Trophimus sick in Miletus). As the only time this could have happened was after the book of Acts was completed.
