Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
v.2 I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him.
God freely employs the intimate symbols of love, sex, and marriage to demonstrate how he feels about his people. When we desires other things more than we desire God, we run the risk of being spiritual adulterers.

v.20 In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or pushes himself forward or slaps you in the face.
Paul's tone of writing suggests that Christians don't need to put up with this sort of behaviour. We are not door mats!

v.9 I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.
Paul didn't take any pay from the Corinthians (v.7) yet it seems they did not appreciate it (v.5-6). It's funny how we don't appreciate those things we get for free.

It is interesting the lengthy explanation Paul gives in this chapter and in the last and in the next chapter. He is quite happy to explain his actions to those who oppose them without being particularly defensive.

v.9 And when I was with you and needed something, I was not a burden to anyone, for the brothers who came from Macedonia supplied what I needed. I have kept myself from being a burden to you in any way, and will continue to do so.
From commentary(Constable): "This is good policy in church planting but it is not normative for a settled pastoral ministry (1 Cor 9:14; 1 Tim 15:17-18)."

v.20 In fact, you even put up with anyone who enslaves you or exploits you or takes advantage of you or puts on airs or slaps you in the face.
This is taking tolerance to a ridiculous degree and certainly not necessary for Christians.

v.30 If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.
Paul boasted in his weaknesses, humiliations, sufferings because they showed that unless God had helped him he would have been able to achieve what he did. Paul did not boast about what he had achieved but what he had gone through.
Interesting that this list (v.23-29) includes much more than what we read in Acts.
