Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
31:10 “Since the people began to bring their contributions to the temple of the Lord, we have had enough to eat and plenty to spare, because the Lord has blessed his people, and this great amount is left over.”
When people become committed a “great amount is left over”.

32:31 But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.
A fuller account is in 2 Kings 20. The rulers of Babylon asked about the miraculous sing but Hezekiah showed them all that was in his store houses. He was selfish (2 Kings 20:19). The thing that was in his heart was his own self-importance. There was no repentance for this.
God knows what is in our hearts and when he reveals it to us, will we repent?

33:12-13 In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.
Although he repented he wasn’t able to undo the damage he did in the first 50 years of his reign (v. 1-9). Nevertheless God was moved by his entreaty and answered his prayers. God is amazingly gracious.

34:28 “Now I will gather you to your ancestors, and you will be buried in peace. Your eyes will not see all the disaster I am going to bring on this place and on those who live here.”
This is similar to the Word given to Hezekiah (2 Kings 20:16-18). But two different reactions. Hezekiah was only concerned about himself (v. 19) but Josiah renewed the covenant (34:31-32). Josiah was concerned for the next generation but Hezekiah was not.

35:22 Josiah, however, would not turn away from him, but disguised himself to engage him in battle. He would not listen to what Necho had said at God’s command but went to fight him on the plain of Megiddo.
Why was Josiah so stubborn? Why didn’t he seek the Lord for himself?
It seems Josiah died prematurely and unnecessarily which was particularly sad when there were so few good kings.
