Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
26:21 King Uzziah had leprosy until the day he died. He lived in a separate house[v]—leprous, and banned from the temple of the Lord. Jotham his son had charge of the palace and governed the people of the land.
Uzziah is the third in the line of 3 kings who started well but ended badly – Joash, Amaziah and now Uzziah. Why is so hard to end well? Perhaps because we are never safe from pride.

27:2 He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done, but unlike him he did not enter the temple of the Lord. The people, however, continued their corrupt practices.
These corrupt practices seem to have arisen during Joash’s time (24:18) and Amaziah (25:14-15, 20). There was no revival under Uzziah or Jotham even though they followed the Lord. Even with a good king, Judah needed a spiritual revival.

28:22-23 In his time of trouble King Ahaz became even more unfaithful to the Lord. He offered sacrifices to the gods of Damascus, who had defeated him; for he thought, “Since the gods of the kings of Aram have helped them, I will sacrifice to them so they will help me.” But they were his downfall and the downfall of all Israel.
All Ahaz had to do was consider Judah’s recent history to know that Judah had experienced peace and victory when the kings of Judah had followed the Lord, and defeat whey they didn’t.
Likewise there are people today stuck in their wrong thinking about God and won’t consider any other options.

29:36 Hezekiah and all the people rejoiced at what God had brought about for his people, because it was done so quickly.
Sometime around the start, or maybe before, Hezekiah began to reign the northern tribes went into exile. It was good incentive for Hezekiah to re-establish temple worship, and it was done quickly. When God’s people are motivate, change can happen quickly.

30:11 Nevertheless, some from Asher, Manasseh and Zebulun humbled themselves and went to Jerusalem.
Presumably people from the other tribes did not want to humble themselves and admit they were wrong in forsaking the Lord and worshipping other gods, even though it could have rescued their own people (v. 9).
