Here’s how the study works: Read the chapter mentioned in the heading several times during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for a chapter creates the opportunity to reread it several times and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
3:16
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's spirit lives in you?
Now that is SPECIAL!

Divisions and following certain people have only gotten the Church into a fragmented collection of denominations. The Apostle Paul is trying to tell an immature church that it is God that we follow, it is God that we hear, it is God that we seek. We are all God's fellow workers, His earthly temples. We worship the Lord together and encourage one another, but we follow Christ. Paul keeps it pretty simple. But then he says the simplicity of the Gospel is foolishness to unbelievers. I can apply this all to my personal life by making sure I bring every concept or teaching and only adopt it if it agrees with the Word of God, the Bible.

Yes indeed, it is special to be God's temple.
It is interesting how we like to complicated issues of faith. I wonder why? Is it that we are trying to sound spiritual mature? How we would all love to adrressed as spiritual but I wonder how often we act like "mere infants in Christ"? v.1

GOD'S TEMPLE IS SACRED AND YOU ARE THE TEMPLE. DON'T FOOL YOURSELF. BE GOD'S FOOL BECAUSE THATS THE TRUE PATH TO WISDOM.

Thanks Sam_Sam – for the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight v.19
Interesting the test for being worldly is "jealousy and quarreling" v.3

v.5 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants…
I wonder how we see ourselves? Do we big note ourselves or do we see ourelves as servants who say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.' Luke 17:10

For we God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building v.9
We are God's team!

v.8 The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose, and they will each be rewarded according to their own labor.
We are rewarded according to our labour – not according to our fruit (results). That's really good to know!

v.5-6 What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.
We need to appreciate all God' servants.
We may not always like a particular teacher's presentation or their style, nevertheless God may use even the ones we don't like to tell us something we need to hear.

v.12-13 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.
So what is the gold, silver, and costly stones that we would like to build with?
Perhaps the spiritual disciplines of studying the Word, prayer, witnessing etc.

v.21-23 So then, no more boasting about human leaders! All things are yours, whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future —all are yours, and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.
Twice Paul says, "All things are yours." Likewise in Luke 15:31 in the story of the prodigal son, the Father says to the elder son, "everything I have is yours."
How are we to understand this? In Constable's commentary I read this:
"The world belongs to the Christian in the sense that we will inheirt it and reign over it with Christ one day."
