Here’s how the study works: Read the chapters mentioned in the heading during the week and share any words, thoughts, verses that stood out to you. Having a week for several chapters creates the opportunity to revisit them and make additional comments as you feel inclined as well as make comments on other people’s insights.
6:32 They ministered with music before the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem. They performed their duties according to the regulations laid down for them.
David put together a group of men in charge of music (v. 31) after the ark came to rest there. The men plus their sons served there. They were more than good musicians—they were part of the priestly tribe—Levi (v. 48). Chosen not just for their musical ability but according to God's call on their life.
It's not enough to be a good musician—it needs to be a calling, if you are going to lead people in worship.

7:24 His daughter was Sheerah, who built Lower and Upper Beth Horon as well as Uzzen Sheerah.
Sheerah was a builder! She must have exercised leadership in this role and it must have been a significant role to be mentioned by name in a culture where this was generally not done.
Sheerah is another example of a woman in the Bible who showed initiative and leadership.

8:28-33 All these were heads of families, chiefs as listed in their genealogy, and they lived in Jerusalem. Jeiel the father of Gibeon lived in Gibeon. His wife’s name was Maakah, and his firstborn son was Abdon, followed by Zur, Kish, Baal, Ner, Nadab, Gedor, Ahio, Zeker and Mikloth, who was the father of Shimeah. They too lived near their relatives in Jerusalem. Ner was the father of Kish, Kish the father of Saul . . .
The Chronicler adds information about geography, to remind the Israelites that while God permitted leadership by Saul and worship at Gibeon, his ultimately his plan was for leadership by David and worship at Jerusalem. Gibeon is about 6 miles from Jerusalem.
Subtly the Chronicler was trying to point out that their forefathers' premature insistence that God give them a king like all the other nations was a serious mistake.

9:33 Those who were musicians, heads of Levite families, stayed in the rooms of the temple and were exempt from other duties because they were responsible for the work day and night.
Was this the start of night shift?? Also v. 27. God's work continues day and night.
The gatekeepers (v. 17-32) as well as the musicians had an important job—to guard the thresholds of the tent, that is, the entrance to the dwelling of the Lord.
Likewise we have to guard what we allow into our lives, since our lives are now indwelt by God. Ephesians 4:27 tell us not to allow the devil a foothold. The Amplified Bible adds to give the devil no opportunity.

10:13-14 Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the Lord. So the Lord put him to death and turned the kingdom over to David son of Jesse.
Saul wouldn't ask God. Asking a medium is less humbling than asking God. Perhaps because God is Sovereign and a medium is human. God was incredibly patient with Saul but in the end he turned the kingdom over to David. God used Saul's bad leadership to teach David many lessons.
